1968-09-06 - Jimi Hendrix Where Its At Interview

Terry David Mulligan interviews the Jimi Hendrix Experience for Canadian TV show, "Where It's At".

This is the full audio of the "Where It's At" interview - which has come from original footage on YouTube. The interview that is generally broadcast is what appears to be the second take - I added the original announcement from the show as an artefact - the second half was broadcast as pretty much a continual piece.

The date given typically given as 7th September 1968 coinciding with the Vancouver Show.
The clapper board [see screenshot] says the 6th September 1968 when Hendrix was in Seattle.

As the original YouTube audio track was only one channel - I fixed the first section and used another better source for the second broadcast section. There were gaps between reels, they have been edited out. So sometimes there is a small jump in the audio.

1968-05-26 - Jimi Hendrix - Bologna 1st Show [FD Patch and Four Source Merge]

01 - Intro - 4th Source Prominent
02 - Fire - 4th Source Prominent
03 - Hey Joe - 4th Source Prominent
04 - Stone free - 4th Source Prominent
05 - Red house - 4th Source Prominent
06 - Tax free - Three Source (1,2,3)
07 - Purple haze - Two Source Only
08 - Foxy lady - Two Source Only

Lineage: 1,2,3 Source ATMs/FLAC except 4th Source*
FLAC (but from compressed source) > Adobe Audition - Merging, Editing, Speed Correction, EQ and other > FLAC

*The Fourth Source listed as "A semi-soundboard recording, only circulates as a YouTube video" - don't know why but can only so far get hold of same compressed source as everyone else - would have helped for this project - but once this source is merged with others, there is no telling the difference really. Has come out well I think.

Basically the show is close to complete here. End of Intro pieced together from several sources.

Notes - I am just featuring random shows that I have worked on over the years. This one took some work and unlike some of the rougher tapes featured on this site, is in very nice quality.

1969-11-16 - Rolling Stones - Chicago Universal Ampitheater Under My Thumb [FD Merge]

In this post I have uploaded a merge of two different sources for 16 November 1969 show at the Chicago Universal Ampitheater. I like to find the more poorly recorded shows to see if they can be cleaned up. Most of the time it is probably not worth it (which is why I probably won't finish this show...at the moment anyway)

The two sources are both pretty poor, so this upload is a demonstration of how two poor sources can be cleaned up and merged for a decent sounding result. Still rough but listenable.
The link includes the two raw sources, and my final product.

Notes:
Lady Jane and Goin' Home are not soundboard.
Not much done to SBD tracks.
The French voiceovers are edited out.
Bonus tracks - I love the live 1967 version of Yesterday's Papers - so I created an edit
Also added available audio from Warsaw show.
At times there is piercing feedback from the amps (i.e. second half of Satisfaction) - not much I could do about that...

I can only hope we hear this on SBD/uninterrupted one day!

1969-01-13 - Jimi Hendrix - Cologne [FD Patch and Cleanup]

Here is one that I kept back, mainly because EH put out the official version (from same source tape) and I thought it redundant. That said, I still don't have the official one to compare it to, but I remember I did some work to it, speed correction among the edits, some patching from first source also. Anyway, as the official one was a hard to get hold of 2LP set, here is perhaps a "poor man's version"

01 - Intro
02 - Come On (Part One)
03 - Foxy Lady
04 - Red House
05 - Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)
06 - Fire
07 - Spanish Castle Magic
08 - Hey Joe
09 - Sunshine Of Your Love
10 - Star Spangled Banner
11 - Purple Haze
